Frightnights Weekend Event

Location 1 - Meryln’s Wynd and Vaults

The evening started off with a guided tour of some of the narrow alleyways on the way to the vaults.

Upon arriving at the vaults we had a guided tour before being led into Merlyn’s Wynd restaurant where we were due to have our meal. During the meal Annette and Emma had started to pick up on the energy of a man stood in the far right hand corner of the room. As the meal progressed Annette felt that this man was getting very angry and making her feel as if we shouldn’t be eating or drinking in this room. Not long after this one of the glass vases on the shelf in this area shattered.

Once the meal was finished we were then introduced to our medium for the weekend, Andy Mercer. Andy started to pick up a man stood at the top of the stairs at the front of the room. He felt that this man would have been giving a speech, trying to rally the people sat below. He didn’t feel it was political but more that it was an illegal drinking den and this man thought he was held in much more esteem and importance than he actually was.

The whole group then heard what sounded like a lock/bolt turn on a door in the bottom bar room. There was no outside access to this door as it was blocked by a metal gate and no-one from the group was in that room. Andy went down to the door and shouted out but nothing was heard.

Emma at this point then stated that the right side of her face had gone numb.

At this point the group split. One small group went into the back bar room with Andy and the rest stayed in the main room with Martin.

With the vigil in the back bar room it had to be taken into account when anything happened that further groups were doing the tour around the vaults next door.

There were however a few scraping noises from behind the actual bar within the room, as if a crate was being dragged across the floor. Andy went to stand behind the bar. At this point most of the group saw a solid shadow step forward from the doorway right behind Andy to stand directly behind him. Andy then picked up a male energy which seemed to hold a great deal of anger and animosity towards the man that Martin was picking up in the other room.

In the main room, Martin was picking up the energy of a man in the middle of the room. Emma asked if he had bad teeth, as she felt that he had had some teeth ripped out. Martin couldn’t say as this man had his back to him, but he did feel that he had wounds of some sort. This man was also angry and resentful of the energy in the other room. Martin thought that the timeline would have been about 1600’s and was wearing long boots. We asked to make himself known by touching someone. The atmosphere started to get very heavy and dark. This man was moving from one side of the room to the other and there was a draft felt when he moved.

Martin moved to the front of the room and asked a volunteer to stand in the middle of the room. The group asked James to moved a table. A group on the other side of the room felt the table move. Martin was feeling that every time this man moved his head felt strange. The volunteer (a lady) who was stood in the middle of the room felt unsteady on her feet and felt as if she was being pushed forward. She was also very dizzy. It was thought that the man was standing in her energy.

The lady stood in the centre then went very dark. Martin felt that her grandmother was around her. There was then a loud bang, because we were ignoring James he was making himself known again. The room temperature dropped and some lights were seen around Martin. .Annette saw a shadow move behind Martin and there were some lights all over the room. Some one heard “Get the Papist out of here”, which is referring to the Catholic religion. James was pushing Martin out of the way to get to the other room where Andy was speaking to the another man. James stated that he had followed us around the vaults and that he was the watcher, that people came to see him. He threatened Martin and said that he would do more than push him, he asked to bring back the girl and for all of us to get out. He started to walk down to the vaults area and then went.

At this point the groups swapped around. Another small group went into the back bar room with Andy whilst the bigger group stayed with Martin.

Martin picked up the energies of the same man again. He got the name James McCreedy. Martin asked the group to put their hands on the tables and clear their minds and to say the first thing that came into their heads after he had asked a question. The majority of the group picked up the same : He was a large male, wearing a off white/ cream shirt and big leather apron. Martin could see this man dragging bodies down into the vaults. He was picking up that the bodies would be dumped under a bridge once they were finished with, but that they would have been quite mutilated and not one of them would have been intact. The impression was that this man would have been involved in body parts. Emma saw the man holding an organ in his hand. It was felt that this would have been an illegal process. Martin then stated that he was asked to hold his arms out to the sides. At first he felt that this man meant to stab him between his shoulder blades. He then realised that this man was measuring him. Emma had stated at the same time as Martin that this was the man’s intention. It was picked up that the doctor that this man would have worked for was Dr Andrew McAlpine. Martin saw the man swing a pair of lungs and wind pipe in the air.

The whole group then came back into the main room. Andy stood in the doorway between the two rooms. We then all clearly heard a door open, but all the doors in that area were shut. Andy then went into trance and seemed to bring through a male energy that couldn’t or wouldn’t speak. Jodie asked who he was and why he was here. Andy started to grow in height, seeming to be a about a foot taller than what he actually is.

He hovered in the doorway, going to walk into the main room and then going back as if he wasn’t allowed in there. He kept holding out his hands, as if trying to communicate.

Andy then came out of this trance and upon Martin’s request repositioned himself in the centre of the room between the tables. Martin was stood towards the front of the room. There then seemed to be two male energies in the room with a great dislike of each other. It was felt that one of these men would have killed the other. It was possible that the one man had found out about the trade in body organs and was killed because of his knowledge. Andy felt as if he was being put into a certain position, as did Martin. As it was completely dark, neither the group nor Martin or Andy could see where the other was standing. As we put a torch on Martin and Andy was standing quite close together in a position as if Andy was trying to defend himself from Martin who was about to stab him.

Unfortunately our time had then run out and we had to wind up the evening.
